Here are 3 things I learned in chapter2 of social studies.
Residential Schools: I learned that before 1990 there where these schools that the Canadian Government built for the First Nations. They where called Residential Schools. And Christians ran the schools. When the schools opened up the Canadians would go to where the First Nations lived and would take the children from there homes and family for a year. When the kids where in the schools they were taught to be like us Canadians. They were taught to speak like us think like us and act like us. We took the way of life away form them. When the end of the year was over they would be taken back home but most of them would have to learn hoe to speak there own language again because they would have fro got how. If they spoke there language or acted like the FN they would be punished.
